Welcome to EcoDrum, an organization uniting music, nature and culture to
create positive change in individuals and communities.
AWARENESS
The awareness of the subtle changes in your body as
you become excited or enraged can provide tools in self-control. If you know the signs to look for, you give yourself precious
seconds of insight as to what the next move could bring. Just that little bit of time can help you begin to gain perspective
on the importance of every action, as you consider the ramifications of each choice. As awareness of self increases, awareness
of the external and interconnections increase. Every action is a choice, but too often we act without thought or right intention.
Watching and listening to each other, we can truly learn to help and be supportive of each other and the life web. This philosophy
can put you in charge of your life instead of life's circumstances controlling you. Stop, think, and choose.

DRUMMING
Drums symbolize the resistance to slavery, a call for help, a way of uniting people, or a way of worship. Preserving heritage
and beliefs through playing traditional music, reminds us of a shared language that exists in each culture . Drumming has
been used by tribal communities for centuries to communicate and establish a feeling of unity. Drumming provides children
and adults the chance to learn their own rhythms and vibrations, as well as those of others. Scientific research has
shown that drumming stimulates healing through reducing stress, atuning biorhythms, and stimulating the immune system.
ECOPSYCHOLOGY
Ecopsychology is a newly emerging practice that seeks to integrate and re-establish the natural world in the
lives of humanity. It seeks reconnection with that which surrounds us, is part of our Selves, and of which we are part. By
working with this connection, EcoDrum seeks to heal a relationship that has long been broken. These techniques aid us in relieving
stress, uplifting our spirits, and gaining understanding and acceptance of ourselves and others.
